Octoberfest is in the books for 2014, we’ll mark it down as beautiful weather all month long with 1000’s of people coming by to sample our wines, listen to live music, enjoy our food and have a good time. So now that Octoberfest is over we are moving more into our construction mode. We actually kicked off our construction projects in August when we replaced our bridge deck. Since that project went so smooth we are moving on to bigger jobs including a new wine storage room, a large covered deck and the remodeling of our tasting rooms.
We started in September on our new wine storage room that is just off the main entrance to our salesroom. This room will be nothing fancy just a new place to store cases of wine for the salesroom. Right now we have the concrete floor poured and two walls up, we plan on closing the room in this winter, adding insulation and creating a door to access the current salesroom.
The next big project we are working on is our new deck. This will be awesome when completed. The deck will be 16-foot by 34-foot and be covered. We’ve been blessed with great weather so the guys have been moving along pretty quickly on the project and should be ready, no later than Doe Camp next week, maybe even today. We plan on getting nice patio furniture so we’ll have seating for about 40 people, but for Doe Camp we’ll have it set with 8-foot tables and folding chairs so we should be able to have seating for at least 50 to 60 people. The deck will be an awesome place to sit and watch the world go by while enjoying a picnic and a glass or two of our wines.
Another project we have on our list for this late fall and winter is changing around our tasting room areas to create a better “traffic” flow of customers through our buildings. Stay tuned, I’m sure I’ll be blogging and posting pictures of that progress too.
