The rainy spring weather slowed the start of several of our outdoor projects and now that the summer heat is here, I guess we just need to grin-and-bear it. One project that was put on hold because of the rain was the building of our new bandstand. We originally wanted to have our bandstand completed by the first weekend in June, now looks like it should be completed sometime next week. Yippie!!
Our crew started on Thursday, June 4th digging the holes and pouring the concrete piers. Lucky for them it didn’t start raining until after they got the concrete poured.
On Monday, June 8th they started building the base of the bandstand. This will be one sturdy bandstand.
Day 3: June 10th. The guys sweated their way through the day; it was a hot 94° day. They accomplished a lot though, got the decking in place and started on the roof, it’s amazing what 2 excellent builders and do in a day.
The finished bandstand will be 14 x 20, with a roof and eventually enclosed on 3-sides, have plenty of electric, lights and maybe even some ceiling fans. We will primarily be using this bandstand for bands this summer. We have several multi-piece bands scheduled and they needed a stage to perform on, well they got it 🙂 I’m sure we’ll find plenty of other uses for our new bandstand.
As long as Mother Nature cooperates, we should have most of the bandstand completed for the Steve Leslie Band that is playing here on Saturday, June 20. You don’t wanna miss this band they are AMAZING!! Check out their demo online, they make you wanna sing along and get up and dance! By the way, there is NO COVER CHARGE and we’ll have the Bistro open serving pizzas, cold wine and beer! For a complete list of our summer bands click here.
I’ll be posting more pictures as the guys work on the bandstand!
