Still Have a Question?

If you can’t find what you need here, our team at Adam Puchta Winery is happy to help.

Do I need reservations for a regular tasting?

No. Regular tastings are first come, first served. Adam Puchta Winery currently offers a Featured Wine Tasting for $10, which includes 6 tastings and a souvenir APW wine glass to keep. The experience includes award-winning Missouri wines and paired snacks in the original family homestead tasting room. During busy season and select weekends, guests may instead enjoy a pre-selected guided flight of 6 wines for the same price.

Do you sell wine by the glass or beer at the winery?

Yes. Adam Puchta Winery offers all of its wines by the glass, a variety of beer, and house-made wine slushies. Outside beverages are not allowed on the grounds, and coolers may be checked upon arrival.

What else is there to do in Hermann?

Hermann offers a variety of activities for visitors of all ages in addition to the winery experience. The live FAQ page directs guests to the local visitor resource for more to do in town.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. Adam Puchta Winery is pet friendly, but dogs must be well-behaved, remain on a leash at all times, respect the winery cats, and be cleaned up after by their owners.

Do you have seating available?

Yes. Seating is outdoors, with landscaped grounds, picnic tables, and the option for guests to bring their own chairs. The winery also has a large covered deck and a tent for additional weather-protected seating. Outdoor heaters are available when temperatures are cooler, and the deck can also be used for private parties.

Do you have a restaurant?

Yes. The 1855 Cellar Bistro is located in the original Adam Puchta wine cellar and serves fresh, house-made food designed to pair well with the winery’s wines. The Bistro is open select hours, and guests are encouraged to check Facebook and Instagram for current hours and special events. The Bistro also hosts Wine Trail pairings, seasonal events, and reservation-only wine pairing dinners.

Do I need a reservation for my bachelorette party or other large group?

Reservations are not required, but the winery asks large groups — especially those of more than 20 people — to call ahead so the team can serve them more effectively. Guests are also asked to leave party décor and adult items in their vehicles, as the winery considers itself a family establishment.

Do you charge for your wine tastings?

Yes. The Featured Wine Tasting is currently $10 for 6 tastings and includes a souvenir APW wine glass. Generations Wine Club members also receive two free wine tastings per month.

Can I purchase a gift membership for a friend or loved one?

Yes. Gift memberships are available through the website. The current FAQ directs users to the Experiences area, then Wine Club, and then Gift Membership to complete the process.

Do I have to be home to receive my wine shipment?

Yes. Wine shipments are sent by UPS and require an adult signature from someone 21 or older at delivery. Shipments may also be sent to a business address or UPS delivery hub. After three delivery attempts, UPS returns the package to the winery, and the customer may choose pickup or reshipping for an additional fee.

Is there a commitment to how long I am in the Wine Club?

Yes. By joining the wine club, members agree to quarterly charges for a minimum of four quarters. Benefits begin immediately, and a $50 fee applies if the membership is canceled before the first shipment is purchased. Membership renews automatically until canceled.

Do you notify me when my Wine Club shipment is going to arrive?

Yes. Members receive UPS tracking information as soon as the shipment leaves the winery.

How often will wine be shipped to me?

Wine Club shipments are sent quarterly in February, May, August, and November. If temperatures are too hot or too cold for safe shipping anywhere along the route, the winery may delay shipment and contact the member to arrange a better delivery time.

What if I want to have wine shipped sometimes and pick it up other times?

Members can reply to the Wine Club email sent before shipment and request a change in how they receive their wine for that release.

Do I get to choose my wines?

Each quarterly release is selected by the Puchta family and staff. Releases include a rotating mix of three bottles, ranging from red or white and dry to sweet, with the option to add more wines. Members who prefer a specific style can choose Dry Decisions or Sweet Selections.

Is there a membership fee?

No. The Generations Wine Club, Dry Decisions, and Sweet Selections do not charge a membership fee. Members are billed quarterly for the wines in their release, plus applicable tax and shipping based on state requirements.
