This medium-bodied red wine offers an aromatic nose with hints of plum, leather, and cedar. It displays pleasing depth and a lingering richness on the palate, where layers of dark fruit, cherry, plum, tobacco, and spice are enlivened by a touch of cinnamon. A light, well-integrated acidity and tannins lend a velvety, dry mouthfeel. Slightly bolder than previous vintages, owing to an increased proportion of Norton grapes.
Pairs well with wild game, Italian cuisine, burgers, Portobello mushrooms, aged cheddar and Gouda cheeses. Serve cellar temperature.
